This lens was made for three kinds of people.
You were told no to LASIK.
The lens doesn't depend on the shape of your cornea, so thin corneas and strong prescriptions don't rule it out.
You're done with contacts.
Dry, tired eyes by dinner. Rips, lost lenses, the yearly bill. This lens goes in once.
You're in your 40s or 50s and weighing your options.
The FDA extended EVO ICL to age 60 this year. She also performs lens replacement, so you'll hear which one fits.
Where the lens actually goes.
Nothing is lasered. Nothing is removed. The lens goes into a space your eye already has.

Schematic — not to scale.
The front of your eye stays as it is.
No laser, no reshaping. Every future option stays open.
The lens sits behind the colored part.
A small space, about three millimetres deep.
Your own lens stays where it is.
A surgeon can take the lens out or swap it if your needs change.

A Michigan native, born in Royal Oak and raised in Lapeer. She built MiVision to bring advanced vision-correction surgery to mid-Michigan, and performs EVO ICL, LASIK and PRK, lens replacement and cataract surgery.
“I perform EVO ICL, LASIK and lens replacement, so I have no reason to steer you toward any one of them. The recommendation fits your eyes.”
Her measurement standard.
Before I say yes to anyone, I measure:
- The space where the lens will sit
- The cells on the inside of your cornea
- Your pressure
- Your retina
- Your pupils in the dark
“If any of those numbers is off, I'll tell you no.”
Not new. Not experimental. Just not advertised around here, until now.

Corrects nearsightedness −3 to −20 and astigmatism 1 to 4. Made of Collamer: part collagen, in human eyes for more than thirty years. Built-in UV filter. No metal.

LASIK is a great procedure. So is this. The measurements decide.
For the right eyes, LASIK is exactly what she recommends.
| Measure | EVO ICL | LASIK |
|---|---|---|
| What happens | A lens is added behind the colored part of your eye | The front of the eye is reshaped with a laser |
| Corneal tissue | None removed | A thin layer is reshaped |
| Prescriptions treated | Nearsightedness −3 to −20; astigmatism 1 to 4 | Typically low to moderate |
| Thin corneas | Not a factor | Often the reason for a “no” |
| If your needs change | A surgeon can remove or swap the lens | The cornea keeps its reshaped form |
| Procedure time | About 20–30 minutes | About 15 minutes |

Your free vision assessment.
Everything measured, so the answer is based on your eyes.
A straight answer, in writing.
EVO ICL, LASIK, lens replacement, or wait. Your plan and price in writing before you leave.
Procedure day.
About 20–30 minutes. Numbing drops, pressure rather than pain, and most people are back to normal in a day or two.
Questions people actually ask.
Does it hurt?
Numbing drops, sometimes a mild relaxing tablet, no needles. Most people feel pressure, not pain.
Am I a candidate?
Ages 21 to 60, nearsighted −3 to −20, a prescription stable for a year, and enough room inside the eye. The assessment decides.
How much does it cost?
It costs more than LASIK. Most patients finance it monthly. Your exact price goes in writing at your visit.
Is it reversible?
It's removable. Your cornea was never reshaped, so every future option stays open.
Will I still need glasses?
For distance, most people don't. For reading, everyone's eyes need help in their forties.
Will I get halos at night?
Some people notice rings around lights early on; for most they fade. We measure your pupils in the dark beforehand.
Does it cause dry eye?
It doesn't touch the surface of the eye, so it doesn't contribute to dry eye the way laser can. If you already have dry eye, we treat that first.
Is it safe long term?
Thirty years in human eyes, FDA-approved for twenty. In the three-year US data: one lens-related cataract in six hundred eyes. We check your pressure and cell counts every year.
Both eyes the same day?
Commonly, yes. One at a time is also an option. She'll tell you which she recommends.
